Paper submitted to Meaningful Play

We’ve submitted a paper to Meaningful Play, a conference on gamedesign held in Michigan, USA, in October. We talked about the design challenges that we had while making BlockBlazers and how we overcame them. The title of the paper is “BlockBlazers: Serious Decoy”, to give just a little idea what it’s about. I’m not sure what the rules of Meaningful Play are on posting (is that publishing?) the paper here, we’ll first wait to hear if we’ve been selected or not (August 15th) before asking about that. Keep you posted!

This wednesday, thursday and friday we’ll be at the NLGD (see last post).

We added points to the blocks and smoothed out a number of things.

We also updated our blockblazers website.

FourceLabs at NLGD

From wednesday June 18th through friday June 20th, FourceLabs will be participating in the Dutch festival of games NLGD with our game BlockBlazers as part of the Expo program of the festival. We’re really looking forward to presenting our beloved game to a broader audience and are currently working hard on a slicker, improved version of the game. Hope to see you there so you can take a look at the new setup and play a round of BlockBlazers with us
We’re expecting to hear which stand we’ll be assigned this week. Keep you posted!

We are proud to say BlockBlazers can be played at GameZone from today up to Saturday in Antwerp, Belgium.

GAMEZONE is een vierdaags multimediafestival dat de wereld van games vanuit alle mogelijke hoeken bekijkt. Van 7 tot en met 10 februari 2008 wordt cultuurtempel deSingel omgevormd tot een verbluffend lunapark.

Twee jaar na de eerste editie van het festival is de hype groter dan ooit: de industrie legt juichend indrukwekkende groeicijfers voor, nonkel Jef heeft een Second Life en tante Marie doet elke dag haar Brain Training. Games zijn wereldwijd onderdeel geworden van onze digital lifestyle.
